Physiotherapy is a multi-faceted profession focusing on encouraging and supporting the return to normal physical function of the body following illness, surgery, disease or trauma.

Stroke Management

A stroke can cause damage to the part of your brain that controls movement. This can leave you with weakness or paralysis on one side or one part of your body which will make it challenging to carry out everyday activities. Physiotherapy techniques including exercise, manipulation and massage are used to help you heal and regain as much strength and movement as possible.

Sports Physio Rehabilitation

Whether you are a competitive athlete looking to enhance your performance, or you exercise recreationally with your family, or you’re a “weekend warrior” suffering from a sprained back or you want to kick start an active, healthier lifestyle, sports physiotherapy can help.

Using a range of techniques including manual therapies, rehabilitation exercises and education, the focus can be on the prevention of injuries, performance enhancement, strengthening, agility, coordination and balance and treatment of injuries.

Orthopaedic Massage

Orthopedic massage is the therapeutic assessment, manipulation and movement of soft tissue to reduce pain and dysfunction in order to restore movement and structural balance.

Kinesio Taping

Kinesio taping uses an adhesive tape to provide support and stability to injured and inflamed muscles and joints without restricting the body’s range of motion. The tape alleviates pain and facilitates lymphatic drainage by microscopically lifting the skin. The lifting forms convolutions in the skin thus increasing interstitial space and allowing for a decrease in inflammation of the affected areas and gently prolongs the benefits of manual therapy.

Rehabilitation Gym

A rehabilitation gym combines use of gym equipment under the supervision of a physical therapist. The therapist provides hands on guidance and support and demonstrates correctly, the specific exercises required for physical rehabilitation and strengthening to improve physical function after surgery or injury.

Aqua Therapy

Aqua therapy refers to treatments and exercises performed in water primarily for physical rehabilitation and fitness with minimum of stress to the body. A qualified aqua therapist is in attendance to a person receiving treatment in a pool.
